Vegans Can’t Have Burgers Though

One of people’s favorite things to do when they find out I’m vegan is list all of the foods I choose not to eat anymore.

It’s super polite and not rude at all to tell someone the way they eat is impossible and unrealistic, but I get it: People don’t like the idea of “giving up” foods they love.

So even though I’m enjoying improved blood pressure, weight loss, doubled energy, clear skin, and foods that make me feel incredible, I understand the hesitation because I was there once, too.

I know there are people out there who love the idea of losing weight for life, sticking with a healthier way of eating, and all of the benefits of plant-based eating… But they really don’t want to give up their favorite foods that they’ve always had!

SO, for those people who DO want new ideas and help easing into a healthier lifestyle, I want to spotlight some of those foods that helped me live healthier because it’s not all fruits and vegetables. MOST of what I eat is a whole foods plant-based diet, but I’m a foodie and with all of the plant-based versions of foods we all love, you can still eat MORE plant-based and indulge when you want to.

Here’s one of my favorite ways to indulge right now:

Fun fact about me: I HATE MOST VEGGIE BURGERS.

(OMGGG the vegan hates veggie burgers???)

Yep… I hate poorly made veggie burgers that taste like nothing and are a lazy combo of beans, corn, and random veggies trying to disguise themselves as the real thing. For a while, I only ate one or two brands of them when I really craved burgers, but for the most part, I didn’t try to convince myself that a veggie burger could taste just like an animal one.

I was super skeptical and actually blown away that a plant-based product could taste just like a real burger AND contain ingredients I approve of as a health coach.

But this one does. I even had some of my non-vegan people try it and they were SHOCKED and immediately asked me what’s in it that makes them taste so good. The texture is from wheat gluten, the protein is from peas, and the color comes from beets. You can see the full list here to check if it’s right for you.

So now, when I crave a decent burger and want to indulge, this is the perfect way to do it. Indulging should be PART of your healthy lifestyle and something you feel good about! Even better when there are plant-based ways to do so that are completely delicious and don’t require any animal products to give you what you’re craving.

Hope you love these as much as I do.
